10 Nov 2009 - Sunwing's "Worry Free" plan allows for last-minute cancellations - no questions asked

Sunwing's "Worry Free" plan allows for last-minute cancellations - no questions asked

For travellers hesitating about purchasing their winter vacation right now, Sunwing has the answer: a completely hassle-free cancellation waiver whereby, for just $49 per person, travellers can cancel or change their vacation up to three hours prior to their flight departure. No questions asked.

“This waiver program is proving very popular again this year,” says Daryl McWilliams, the company’s vice-president of sales and marketing. “People really like the peace of mind our plan provides for them by allowing the cancellation of their holiday plans right up to the last minute – literally for any reason – and we’ll refund them.” Refunds are in a combination of cash and vouchers for future travel with Sunwing, the ratio varying depending on how close to departure the cancellation is received.

The company also allows passengers who have purchased the waiver to completely switch their vacations to a later date and even a different destination. “In the event the new holiday is more expensive than the original one, we just ask that you pay the difference,” says McWilliams.

The waiver is available to both passengers who book holiday packages as well as just flights, but must be purchased the same day the booking is made.

“We understand that sometimes things just don’t work out, and you simply have to change your plans,” adds McWilliams. “That’s why the waiver is there, to provide you with "worry free" vacation planning.”
