Update on Price Drop Guarantee
On May 1, 2024, our Price Drop Guarantee (PDG) program was discontinued. This change will no longer allow customers to purchase or file a PDG claim on vacation packages booked on or after May 1, 2024. However, Sunwing will honour eligible PDG claims on vacation packages booked prior to May 1, 2024.
PDG is a product offered by Sunwing Vacations (valued at up to $400 per couple) and is not considered an insurance product of any nature. PDG is only available on Sunwing bookings made prior to May 1, 2024, and applies to package bookings only, which include round-trip flights and in which Sunwing Airlines, Travel Service and TUI Airways are the carriers. This does not apply to Wild Wednesday, groups, air or hotel only, cruise bookings, Florida packages or vacation products using carriers other than the airlines listed.
This is an optional product and applies to the total price paid, including taxes and fees for bookings purchased in Canadian Dollars for Canadian departures. No registration is needed. Not available in conjunction with similar price drop protection plans of retail partners. In order to be eligible to make a claim, the package booking must have been confirmed prior to May 1, 2024. As well, each customer on the booking is responsible for online claims, checking the amount of variance between the current price and the price at time of booking (if any) by using the automated tool inside the Manage My Booking section on Sunwing.ca and submitting a one-time PDG claim.
To make a claim via Manage My Booking, the identical vacation as booked must be available at the time of claiming at a lower total booking price (i.e. same departure and return dates and flights, same airline and flight, same resort and room category and occupancy and number of passengers). Claim value must not exceed $200 per passenger (adults or children under 12 years old). Claim eligibility will be based on total package price per person on the original booking (insurance, change fees and other add-on items are not included in the calculation).
PDG can only be claimed once per booking and cannot be claimed within 45 days of departure thereafter. Eligible claims sent to Sunwing will be validated automatically and a response will be issued to the passengers on the booking. If the claim is made prior to final payment, the booking will be automatically adjusted at the new price and final payment will be required 45 days prior to departure.
Once a claim has been made for the booking, no further claims or adjustments will be permitted for the passengers on that booking. Recipients of valid claims will qualify for a rebate in Canadian dollars equal to the lesser amount of either: a) the variance amount of the total package price for the booking claiming or b) $200 per passenger. If the final payment has been made, cheques will be payable to the person and mailed to the address entered on the claim section, approximately four (4) weeks after claim has been validated.
If the booking is cancelled, cancellation penalties and any remaining refund owing are calculated based on the original price on file less your approved claim amount.
