Climb up the world-famous cascades of Dunn’s River Falls
No visit to Jamaica would be complete without a visit to Dunn’s River Falls! Located just outside Ocho Rios, Dunn’s River Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in the Caribbean and one of the island’s most popular attractions. The falls form a natural staircase of rushing cascades that are over 600 feet long and 180 feet high, spilling out onto a picturesque beach overlooking the Caribbean Sea. You can climb up the falls with the assistance of a guide or stroll up the wooden staircase alongside the falls.
Where to stay: Stay just minutes from the falls at the newly-renovated Riu Ocho Rios. Want some more excitement after a day spent exploring Dunn’s River Falls? Head to the resort’s new on-site water park. Looking to slow down the pace? Kick back and relax by one of the revamped pool areas or retire to your oceanview room.
Enjoy an action-packed day on the island
If action and adventure are at the top of your list, you’ll love spending the day at Chukka’s Adventure Park & Falls, a 2,000-acre adventure park that’s located in the Good Hope Estate. You’ll get to enjoy plenty of exciting activities, like ziplining above the lush jungle canopy, exploring the ruins of an 18th century plantation on an ATV ride, tubing or kayaking down the Martha Brae River and riding down the park’s 300-foot-long water slide. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the park’s 50-foot waterfall!
Where to stay: Keep the excitement going back at Royalton White Sands Montego Bay, a beachfront resort that offers something for everyone. Try out a range of complimentary water sports along the white-sand shores like snorkelling and kayaking or keep up with your workout routine with a Royalton Fit™ class. Plus, kids at heart will love testing out the fastest slides at the on-site water park.

Swim in one of four luminous lagoons in the world
There are only four luminescent lagoons in the world – and the largest of the four, the Luminous Lagoon, can be found on the island of Jamaica! Located in Falmouth, the lagoon is home to millions of bioluminescent microscopic organisms that light up and emit a mystical glow when the water around them is disturbed. You’ll enjoy a scenic boat ride from Glistening Waters Marina through the lagoon, where you can hop into the water and watch as it lights up around you.
Where to stay: When you’re not swimming in the Luminous Lagoon, soak up the sun poolside at Riu Palace Tropical Bay. Grab your favourite drink from the swim-up bar or order from the comfort of your lounger with poolside wait service. In the evenings, dine at one of the on-site restaurants including a Caribbean buffet where you can sample local dishes.
Hike through the lush jungle to picturesque Blue Hole
Hidden within the lush landscapes of Ocho Rios is the secluded and picturesque paradise of Blue Hole. This hidden gem is famous for its breathtaking turquoise pool that was formed by a natural limestone sinkhole, surrounded by rushing cascades and tropical rainforest. You can swim in the Blue Hole’s refreshing waters or drop from the riverbanks into the water below on the rope swing! Feeling adventurous? Ask one of the local guides to show you the Secret Falls, approximately a ten-minute hike from Blue Hole along the river and through the rainforest.
Where to stay: If you’re planning a romantic getaway, an excursion to the dreamy Blue Hole pairs perfectly with a stay at the adults only Hideaway at Royalton Negril. Enjoy the ultimate date night at the Ocean Point Bistro, Hideaway’s exclusive restaurant that overlooks the ocean and serves fine French cuisine. At the end of the evening, retire to your luxury suite with all the modern conveniences of home.
