Real Wedding: Alicia & Joseph

How it all started

When it’s right, it’s (swipe) right, and that’s how Alicia, a Child and Youth Care Worker from Brampton, Ontario and Joseph, a construction worker originally from Laois, Ireland felt! The two met on a dating app and found themselves drawn to each other almost from the start – Alicia thought Joseph was attractive and friendly and Joseph was captivated by Alicia’s beauty and her brain. Their first date took place at Jack Astor’s in Brampton and the two have been on a roll ever since!

Alicia and Joseph both knew they had found the one after dating for a few years, and Joseph finally popped the question on their four-year anniversary. The two decided to celebrate the occasion in Niagara Falls and as they took in the majesty of this natural wonder, Joseph got down on bended knee, Alicia responded with an emphatic “Yes!” and the next chapter of their love began.

Planning the wedding

From the start, Joseph knew that a destination wedding was for him. With most of his family residing in Ireland, travel was unavoidable, so why not head to paradise? Alicia was not sure at first but eventually came around to the idea and the engaged couple decided on hosting their tropical nuptials in Negril, Jamaica. Alicia’s family is Jamaican and Joseph’s relatives had never been to the island, so it was the perfect spot for both sides to come together for an unforgettable experience.

Wedding day details

With the help of their expert wedding planner, Alicia and Joseph chose Royalton Negril An Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort as their host in paradise. This property was the right choice for them and their wedding party as it would allow all their guests to enjoy themselves in vacation mode, with plenty of amenities they can explore during their stay.

A violinist set the mood for the day, playing beautifully as Alicia walked down the aisle to Joseph and their future together. After a stunning ceremony at the private Ocean Point Gazebo overlooking Jamaica’s sparkling coastline, the party moved to the resort’s ballroom where Joseph and Alicia made their grand entrance as husband and wife to “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals. The rest of the night went as smoothly as Jamaica’s famous rum and the two were able to celebrate their love in style, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
