Real Wedding: Samantha & Anthony

How it all started

Samantha, a training coordinator from Mississauga, and Anthony, an operations director from Woodbridge, met by chance on a trivia app called QuizUp. The app would randomly pair two people from around the world who selected the same trivia category and one day, the app paired Samantha and Anthony. After beating her in the first round, Anthony sent Samantha a message teasing her about how bad she was at the game. After she replied, the pair started talking and Anthony asked her out five times before she finally agreed to meet him for coffee at Tim Hortons.

The first date went well and as Samantha began to spend more and more time with Anthony, she realized she couldn’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him! After several years of dating, the pair took their annual anniversary trip to Montreal where Anthony proposed on a romantic pier overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Of course, she said “yes”!

Planning the wedding

Samantha immediately knew that she wanted a destination wedding, and Anthony was happy to give her the wedding of her dreams. They had been to Jamaica two years prior over New Year’s Eve and knew that the beautiful Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites was where they wanted to start their forever.

Wedding day details

On November 29, 2019, Samantha and Anthony said “I do” in front of 42 of their closest family and friends in a dreamy garden ceremony. The picturesque venue was decorated in their colour scheme of blush pink with hints of greenery, with romantic rose petals lining the aisle. Samantha’s favourite moment of their special day was walking down the aisle towards her future husband, and Anthony loved the ceremony and the speeches during their reception.

Wedding day wear

Samantha’s gown: Tiered tulle ballgown with an illusion lace bodice for the ceremony, and a fitted lace gown for the reception.

Samantha’s shoes: Flats – which her feet appreciated after a long night of dancing at their reception!

Samantha’s accessories: Elegant hairpiece and long drop earrings.

Anthony’s attire: Custom beige linen suit.

Anthony’s accessories: Pink belt, cufflinks and a watch.

Wedding bands: Verragio wedding bands (to match Samantha’s engagement ring).

The bridesmaids wore: Long blush pink dresses.

The groomsmen wore: Linen pants to match the groom, white shirts with brown suspenders and brown shoes.
