Love Is Blind: Riviera Maya, Mexico
While the Netflix sensation primarily took place in Atlanta, the romantic getaway the newly engaged couples embarked on took place at the ultra-luxurious Grand Velas Riviera Maya in Mexico. The lavish property is surrounded by lush jungles overlooking a pristine white-sand beach that’s perfect for sunset cocktail parties and bonding under a shaded seaside lounger. Most of the couples stayed in the resort’s serene Zen Grand section, featuring Zen Grand Pool Suite Nature View rooms with private terraces and plunge pools.
The Challenge: Sosúa, Dominican Republic
Season 22 of this intense competition was filmed in Sosúa, a charming beach town just outside the hustle and bustle of Puerto Plata. While the destination is known for its calm beaches and ideal snorkelling conditions, the gaming show brought the action with a number of exhilarating challenges. While you won’t be able to traverse a suspended beam or climb up a shipwrecked boat, you can go ziplining above the treetops and visit rushing waterfalls. After all the adventure, head back to Emotions By Hodelpa Playa Dorada to refuel on delicious cuisine like Italian and Dominican fare before retiring to spacious accommodations.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Mexico
In the Season 6 premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, main characters Jake and Amy honeymoon in an unspecified romantic destination in Mexico, where they end up running into their boss, Captain Holt! While the couple spent their honeymoon at a fictional resort in an unnamed location, we can only imagine that they would have loved Riviera Maya, which offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Looking for inspiration on where to stay? Royalton Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort & Casino is always a popular choice with its luxe amenities and top-notch service that we think even Captain Holt would approve of.
Bachelor in Paradise: Riviera Nayarit, Mexico
The ABC hit summer series Bachelor in Paradise has always filmed in the Puerto Vallarta area, with dates taking place throughout historic downtown and the Sierra Madre Mountains. The season that’s currently airing is the first to have filmed portions at Iberostar Selection Playa Mita in Riviera Nayarit. While the cast of Bachelor in Paradise only got to visit the resort for a few hours at a time, you can spend an entire week there, teeing off on the nearby golf course that was designed by Greg Norman and watching the sunset over the Pacific Coast from your oceanview balcony.
The Real Housewives: Montego Bay, Jamaica
The Real Housewives is certainly a love it or hate it guilty pleasure – but there’s no denying that the vacations the cast goes on are over-the-top spectacular. The breathtaking landscapes and world-class resorts of Jamaica are so popular, that three different Real Housewives franchises have visited this Caribbean island. The Orange County crew headed to Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa in Season 13, while the New Jersey and Atlanta casts both vacationed at Moon Palace Jamaica. You can visit some of the island’s most popular hotspots that were featured on the shows including Dunn’s River Falls.
Fear of the Walking Dead: Baja California, Mexico
Fans of this post-apocalyptic spinoff might recognize the desert landscapes along Mexico’s Pacific Coast. The series filmed in northern Baja California, which also happens to be home to the popular vacation destination of Los Cabos further down the coast. While you definitely won’t find any walking dead, you will find breathtaking coastal landscapes, luxury resorts and plenty of opportunities for adventure. Explore the area’s unique mix of desert and seaside on a Sunwing Experiences excursion and stay at the adults only Riu Palace Baja California, featuring glamorous infinity pools overlooking the rocky coast.
The Bachelorette Canada: Varadero, Cuba
The inaugural season of The Bachelorette Canada filmed at a number of picturesque locations throughout the tropics – including the finale, which took place at the adults only Royalton Hicacos Resort & Spa in Varadero. This tranquil Cuban resort was built with romance in mind, where you can lounge on a Bali bed or plan a date night at the intimate jazz bar.
